Diabetes prevention

Diabetes Prevention The IDF MENA Region is committed to reducing the burden of diabetes through effective prevention, early detection, and health promotion across the Middle East and North Africa. We support member associations and partners in promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity, healthy nutrition, weight management, and awareness of diabetes risk factors. Through educational programmes, community initiatives, campaigns, and knowledge sharing, IDF MENA encourages individuals and communities to take action to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. By strengthening collaboration and prevention efforts across the region, IDF MENA works towards healthier communities and a future with fewer cases of preventable diabetes.Type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented, but research is ongoing to determine its environmental triggers.
