Jordanian Society for the Care of Diabetes (JSCD)
The Jordanian Society for the Care of Diabetes (JSCD) is a pioneering nonprofit organisation dedicated to advancing diabetes prevention, education, and care in Jordan. The Society is a member of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), the Diabetes in Asia Study Group (DASG), the Patient Protection Coalition, and the Jordan Non-Communicable Diseases Alliance. It is also represented on the Board of Directors of the National Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Genetics. The Society's work focuses on three core pillars: Healthcare Providers, People Living with Diabetes, and Community Awareness. Through these pillars, JSCD promotes professional education and capacity-building, empowers individuals living with diabetes and their families through education and support, and advances community awareness, prevention, and early detection. Its activities include scientific conferences, professional training, educational publications, community screening and healthcare outreach programmes, and dedicated initiatives for children living with diabetes. The Society also promotes integrated cardio-renal-metabolic care and the prevention of diabetes-related complications. Through collaboration with governmental institutions, civil society organisations, the private sector, and national and international partners, JSCD strives to strengthen diabetes care, promote optimal disease management, and improve health outcomes across Jordan.
